Im off on a business trip to CA for the next two weeks.
I know you guys like to talk about guns. You ain’t talkin’ about guns! This here is about GUNS! enjoy. Don’t forget to go to the index and explore AMMUNITION.
Alphecca, everybodys favorite “Gay Gun-Nut in Vermont” (not that there’s anything wrong with that, some of my best friends are gun-nuts) has gone crazy-good with posts starting here (scroll down).
Lileks: “it sounds like Im trying to grate a cat butt-first.”
It just caught me by surprise and made me laugh.
Publicola has a wonderful and enlightening LONG post about the LAPD switching to Glocks.
Via Instapundit this from Dave Kopel.
One quibble, Dave says ” …the psychological screening used on FBI agents is unnecessary for airline pilots, and is silly in light of the fact that every pilot already controls a weapon thousands of times more powerful than a handgun.”
A .45 ACP ball round exits the muzzle at 810 [...]
Alphecca has his weekly gun bias chart up. I love the graphic, that’s my kind of target rifle and it’s hell on varmints too! Don’t forget to read the text.
Say Uncle finds an increase in crime. It’s another instance of legislators doing what they do best (not nothing, Oh God I only wish) legislating, not quality but quantity. Remember that, in our society, laws do not empower they only restrict. More laws almost always = less freedom.
The Smallest Minority has a comprehensive post about the RKBA and he says pretty much everything there is to say. I have one thing to add, “If it saves one life”. It seems that allowing “the people” (scary quotes only to those in power) to keep and bear arms saves many more than [...]
Publicola nails this non-sequiter cold. I feel the same way but Publicola says it much better, in other words “what he said”.
(Really this article is another WTF moment. Remember 9-11? If this woman’s son had died in the twin towers this mom would have sued Amtrak because they are a public transportation [...]
Today I’m #1 on Google for “chinese farting classroom fine ban” Yeah!

A nation of scared sheep
Why don’t Americans care that Bush may have lied to them about Iraq? The answer lies deep in our reptilian brains
By Louise Witt
Why do lefty types always think they know exactly what is going on with us “sheep”?
Also from Salon:
Robert Scheer The U.S. may have [...]
Here’s a prescription I (and just about everyone else I know) needs. Hurry before the democrats decide to tax these benifits at their preferred 120% rate (thats right, you should PAY for the privilege).
Say Uncle points out something to ponder at Bjorn, Again. I’ve excerpted from the source what everyone seems to think is the money (ha ha ha, you so funny) quote:
A new study by the Center for Responsive Politics found that in the last election cycle, people who gave less than $200 to politicians or parties [...]
Media Minded quits. At least they didn’t move off blogspot.
Via Inoperable Terran this wish that the Constitution remain “dead”. I particularly liked Jonah Goldberg’s quoting from Chesterton:
“Tradition means giving a vote to most obscure of all classes, our ancestors. It is the democracy of the dead.” He continued, “Tradition refuses to submit to the small and arrogant oligarchy of those who merely happen to [...]
Keep and Bear Arms has a great story from June 30th (I told you I was just catching up) about some kids that are smarter than any lefty-liberal you’ve ever met.
Each legal team consisted of five brilliant 5th graders. Each side presented charts and facts to the jury which consisted of twelve 5th graders, half [...]
Susanna at Cut on the Bias promises and delivers a post about the evolution of her thoughts on the death penalty.
I won’t excerpt it, you should simply go there and read it.
Adding my own thoughts I have to say that my thinking on the death penalty has changed over the past few years. I [...]
The Nigerian scam is becoming a Swiss/NGO/UN scam (set in Iraq). I received this e-mail this morning
My dear,
I feel very sorry to interrupt your peace since you are not expecting to
receive any mail from me. However, I was obliged to do so due to the
importance and urgency of the message. I crave your indulgence, [...]
It’s time for bed! Happy 4th of July to all and let freedom ring.
