The Buck Stops There doesn’t think I agree with him. I do agree with him only more so ;)
Thanks for the pointer to your permalinks. I updated my post below.
Update: Say Uncle seems to be the voice of reason in all of this.
Update: Someone else has a much stronger opinion then I’ve expressed.
More Quashing of Dissent. This time it’s by the NRA.
Update: Publicola has many new posts up, read them ALL.
Now I’m comvinced! The 1994 so called “Assault Weapons” ban works. I’m a changed man. Xrlq (scroll down) says:
It saved my life, for sure. I mean, c’mon, they banned those nasty things in 1994, and I haven’t been shot by one since. What more proof do you need?
Xrlq has a blog [...]
From fear and anger to sadness and resolve. This from Jay at A Voyage to Arcturus. Jay has picked the most important part and has shown his resolve, just read them both.
Say Uncle led me to The Buck Stops There who found this.
Say uncle said “Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid”, The Buck Stops There said “New World Order”. I don’t think either of those takes are strong enough. Here is the salient parts:
Justice Sandra Day O’Connor predicts that the U.S. [...]
The Commissar smiles at Beanie Babies.
He’s all anti-capitalist and stuff but maybe we’ve found his weakness - Beanie Babies and online auctions. We’ll see if he can resist capitalism in it’s most basic form.
Bouquet is an odd little thing.
I gather it’s two UCLA art students’ project. It’s vaguely anti-gun but it doesn’t seem like it ever got going as a project or as an antigun statement. If you navigate amongst it’s four main pages you’ll find what appears to be a positive review of Eldorado’s Starfire [...]
The internet is cool! Listen to the firefighters efforts in California. Here is the live scanner feed. (warning: some popups)
Found in passing - another (month old story) gun “attacks”.
Headline: “Assault Rifle Fired on Chicago Police“.
Dang assault rifles shooting at people and apparently discriminating between citizens and law enforcement officers. When did they get so smart? Not that smart, the gun missed:
Chicago police officers were fired upon by an assailant who used an [...]
The Mullato Advocate has moved. Here is Robert’s new home
No Watermelons Allowed sees the glass as 71% good I see it as 29% evil.
Dang I took the test and my site is 1% LESS evil than his. Well being in second place means that I’ll just have to try harder. I know! I can get some Evil Points by helping to Kill [...]
The AlphaPatriot took a quiz and was deemed a Realist.
I don’t know why but I seem to be a sucker for these tests (even if the tests remind you that they are NOT scientific in any way). As late as the Alphapatriot stayed up I’m staying up a little later to take this test. [...]
Andrew Sullivan notes that this might be the “first time that French-made munitions have been used in an attempt to murder a member of the U.S. government“.
I think that makes it a sure bet that it wasn’t a frenchman that pulled the trigger - frog balls are so small they don’t even descend, frogs wear [...]
Say Uncle points to Elephant Rants’ discovery of sentient machines!
Yeah SUVs are sentient, just like guns. You’ve heard it; rashes of “gun” crime and people killed by “guns”. This deadly combo must explain drive-by shootings.
Attention Shoppers! Did you ever try Froogle? It’s like Google but it searches for things for sale on the net. It’s in beta but you can try it out now. It even finds firearm related items!
Alphecca’s done it again!
By shining the light of his weekly “Report on the Bias” he has forced yahoo to take a more even handed approach to reporting on gun issues (don’t we wish). Anyway it’s the second(?) time this year that pro-gun articles outnumbered ant-gun articles. Here’s hoping it’s a sign of a trend.
The Smallest Minority has a post on The Business of Government or more correctly what is Not the Business of Government.
Kevin has another great link filled post, go read it all. At the end of the post is a link to this awesome post by the Curmudgeon Emeritus — Francis W. Porretto. Excerpt:
Let just [...]
My OSB headed home Thursday afternoon.
We had a great time, I’m trying to get him to leave “The Peoples Rebublic of Kalifornia” as we call it around here (Kalifornia for short). He knows he has to do it soon, the place is just too shooter unfriendly.
Activities (in reverse blogological order):
Sunday: Pickup from airport followed [...]
By unonimus request I have added The Politburo Diktat to my blogroll, check it out, The Commisar seems to hate everything capitalist in general and the capitalist exploitation of beautiful women in particular.
And check out his photo, sometimes he looks strangely familiar … hmmm.
Alphecca’s new and improved Monday check on the bias is up. I particularly liked the editorial (by a liberal no less) arguing against using the courts to block pro concealed carry legislation in Missouri. Check it out.
As for me I’m off to the Jack Daniel’s Distillery.
