I’m experiencing a DoS attack, a denial of internet service attack by my ISP, Comcast.

All the asswipes at Comcast added together don’t have an executable IQ. Internet connectivity is intermittent and slow at best. I hate Comcast.

And I bet you don’t have any other option either. Sucks when you either have to settle for slow-as-molasses connections, or no connections at all. I did dialup for a long time, then got Cox and whooooeee, I’ve never had a problem with them.

Now, the neighbors stealing my wifi, I’ve had problems with…

You’re right, dialup or Comcast high speed cable is hardly a choice. I can hardly wait ’til we get some real competition going. Of course that won’t happen ’til I’m eighty, if then.

My wireless is fairly secure but since I set up my neighbors wireless I still have access to it when my internet is down. Funny how they always have internet service while nobody at comcast seems able to permanently fix mine.

Have you checked to see if you can get something like SBC/Earthlink/Road Runner DSL in your area? DSL sucks, but it might be better than your current crappy “service”, and the customer service at Earthlink kicked ass when I had to deal with them.

No DSL is available this far out in the boonies. I’ve though of satellite maybe but the last time I checked that involved a phone line on the way out. My problem is that I only have this problem, my neighbor doesn’t. There is no technical reason why my service can’t work. My problem is that the techs are either unskilled, incompetent or uncaring. My current mission is to make these folks hate their jobs, in a nice way, unlike the way I make telemarketers hate their jobs.
