9mm AR Upper Purchase Advice

Kiki is looking for the “cheapest rra [9mm] uppers on the web.”

I like ADCO for RRA stuff. ADCO has good prices and excellent service, Steve won’t let you down. If you have any other sources, post them here in comments.

Kiki also asks “can anyone answer me what the notch in front of a ar15 hammer is for? not the rear notch. (on a m16 hammer) just a plain ar15 hammer. i have one with no notch. i have seen my buddys ar with a notch. what is it for?” If you can answer that one for him/her please feel free, comments are open.

The notch on the front of the 5.56mm and 9mm hammers is to prevent the hammer from riding the bolt forward if the disconnecter does not catch the hammer. If the disconnector does not catch the hammer when the bolt starts traveling forward the notch will catch on the bottom of the bolt preventing the bolt from going back into battery. This is to prevent full auto operation should the disconnector fail or be tampered with.
