Interesting that Mr Adams chose a peacenik to paraphrase. And I would remind him that the Islamist world is also armed.
The quote is best read as the conclusion to the article found at the link - I think the point is that while yes, “the Islamist world is also armed”, we are, as citizens, armed too.
