And Taser Girl Makes Six
Published by Ninth Stage February 3rd, 2007 in Only Ones Professional Enough, The Law.The Gallatin Police Department has lately been on a roll, on a roll as in heads rolling.  With this rate of attrition the Red Light Cameras Tisdale had installed around town start to make some kind of sense.
The sixth police officer resignation since late October occurred Wednesday.
Negrin, 35, faced three departmental violations for using what’s called a drive-stun technique, where the device is pressed against a person and fired, delivering an electrical shock.
According to records, the two-year patrol officer admitted during an interview and testified during an internal investigation concerning another officer that she had used a Taser in this manner.
Officer Negrin told investigators the civilian wanted to know “what it felt like to be stunned with a Taser.â€
I bet the “civilian” (come on now, just because cops can be assholes doesn’t mean they’re not civilians) is glad he didn’t wonder what it felt like to be shot! More whacky behavior:
Negrin’s personnel file reveals that she received verbal warnings over an incident where a citizen complained that she was rude and yelling during a traffic stop. Another incident was reported that Negrin sprayed a resident with pepper spray then refused medical assistance to the person after 22 requests.
Oddly she’s also from Puerto Rico. Apparently we don’t have enough local jerks that we source them offshore.
Three resignations in October, two last month.
