P22 Slide Snapped

 P22 Broken Slide

In my netarian wanderings I’d missed this May 9th post until now.  Here’s the story behind this Walther P22’s slide breaking.

IIRC, those slides are made from some kind of zinc alloy. I’m not at all surprised to see them fail.

The slides are some light alloy casting.
While the P22 is a fun little gun, their reliability problems are disappointing, and more disappointing in a pistol made by Walther.

    Hi there.

You’re not alone my friend. My P22 slide has been replaced two or three times under warranty.

The springs have broken more than a couple times and the pistol is at the gunsmith for another spring failure presently.

You learn as you go and I’ll be sure to investigate the composition of any future gun.

My newest pistol is an ALL-steel CZ75B in satin nickel. It ain’t gonna break easily.

    Regards, Wayne.
