Published by Ninth Stage November 9th, 2007 in Guns.Cowboy Blob’s Patriot Ordnance .223 gas-piston upper is no more, with photos. The upper took a Beta-C Mag with it.
ADDED:Â Since it belongs to Cowboy Blob, shouldn’t it be kaBLOOM?

umm what exactly is a piston upper? and by the way i like the lil quote you have about Knowing Guns etc
An “upper” is the top part of an AR-15 rifle - the part that has the barrel and bolt, “Piston” means that instead of using the normal AR-15 system of direct gas impingement to operate the bolt, this upper uses a piston to work the bolt. The advantage of using a piston is that it does not deposit gas, carbon, and unburned powder into the action the way a normal upper does.
