The headline proclaims “Phoenix man kills truck theft suspect claiming self-defense.” Sounds like an iffy shooting.

The story says it differently. Homeowner Cody Geneha heard his truck being started around 12:30 a.m. He grabbed his gun and ran outside were he saw a man taking off in his truck. The thief flipped a bitch and sped toward Geneha, who was on the sidewalk.

Gehena fired several rounds at the thief who was trying to run him down with Gehena’s own truck.

The truck crashed into a wall with a dead or dying thief behind the wheel and with a gunshot wound in his head.

Now that is clearly self-defense.
