Thinking Out Loud
Published by Ninth Stage June 5th, 2008 in Blog Stuff. There are basically two types of crimes. One is the type where you take something from someone else. The other type is a thought crime, usually starting with the thought: I’m a free man why would it be prohibited?

From what i learned..
There are two types of crime. Malum in se or moral, evil crimes. i.e. rape, murder, theft. and Malum Prohibitum where its not evil, but a law where society (whoever that is) places a rule. i.e. speed limit, driving on the right side etc.
As to thought crimes, to produce crime that involves two things, the thought, and the act. You can think all you want, but its not illegal until it is acted upon.
I’m saying that crime of the Malum Prohibitum variety are thought crimes. You think you are a free man, hit the accelerator and the next thing you know, Johnny Law is reminding you that you’re not a free man.
another way: M.P. crime can be distilled to the thought crime of thinking one is free.
