Not the Messiah
Published by Ninth Stage November 5th, 2008 in Politics.When Obama got his start, I swear I heard him say, “I am the new J.C., I am the one.” Somehow this got translated into him being the Obamessiah. Sometimes it seems that I’m the only one who knows what he meant. He was not proclaiming a second coming, Obama was declaring himself the new Jimmy Carter. Many of us remember how well the first one turned out.
